Human Resources Officer Scott Wilson Scotland Ltd Glasgow Dear xxx, This is a letter to confirm that I have received a conscript for carrying out my military duties back in Greece within the Engineers. The date for joining the army is set for the 7th of February 2005. I am aware that the terms of employment at Scott Wilson require me to give a notice of 4 weeks. However, I request you to kindly relieve me of my responsibilities by the 21st of this month, enabling me to arrange my departure from Glasgow and to allow me to adjust to my new environment. As we discussed, this is not a career change of my choice, as all Greek men are still obliged to serve the armed forces. Therefore, this has nothing to do with the excellent opportunity you have provided me here. Scott Wilson have been more than fair with me, and I genuinely appreciate all your support. The duration of service in the army is 12 months, after which, I may possibly want to return to Glasgow and hopefully to Scott Wilson in order to resume my employment here and to fulfil my training agreement. I have already discussed this matter with Mr xxx yyy and made him aware of my possible return to Scotland. I will certainly speak to him again in order to establish all the possible means for doing that. It has been a pleasure working here and have enjoyed representing the company. I assure you of the satisfactory completion of all my current duties by my leaving date. I wish Scott Wilson every success this year. I will provide you with my contact details in Greece, so please feel free to contact me at any time if I can be of further assistance in helping with a smooth transition or any other relevant business. Yours Sincerely Dimitrios Legakis 7 January 2005
